At the present stage, the development of cloud computing technology is rampant

In recent years, cloud computing technology has flourished and grown rapidly. Cloud computing has become a hot spot in the development and application innovation of the information technology industry. In China, cloud computing has passed the initial stage of market cultivation and concept speculation, and has now entered a specific stage of product service. Of course, every major technological change will not be smooth sailing. The same is true for cloud computing. Although the concept was put forward as early as 2005, after this decade of development, although it has made great progress, it is still worse than expected. Some, although many data centers are wearing “cloud computing” vests, but in fact there is not much connection with cloud computing, so that the number of Internet giants and operators can provide external cloud services, such as: Alibaba Cloud, Telecom Cloud, Century Internet, Baidu Cloud, etc. These basic public cloud services are IaaS, which is the infrastructure service provider. The essence is to sell data center resources, and rent computing, network and storage resources to Small and medium-sized enterprises, these small and medium-sized enterprises put their own business on the public cloud, which can greatly save their IT expenditure. IaaS is one of the three forms of cloud computing, and it is also the most primitive development stage.

The competition in the cloud computing market is mixed

Cloud computing will reshuffle the world’s enterprises. This change has challenged the world’s enterprises. Today, we are so fascinating that IBM, Microsoft, and Intel… These names still exist. Ten years ago, there are three major types of enterprises that can provide public cloud services. The first category is the traditional IT equipment giants, including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Huawei, Inspur, etc. These hardware equipment manufacturers have super strong technical strength accumulation, in the case of the profit of selling hardware equipment is decreasing year by year, the transition to the cloud computing market competition is Inevitably, they have packaged themselves into a cloud computing product solution provider, because most of these companies have achieved brilliant results, and they still have an unassailable position in the field of hardware devices. They can launch cloud services and their own hardware. The devices are better combined and cut into the cloud computing market. They have inherent advantages. At present, the cloud services of such enterprises are basically oriented to enterprise users. One is the cloud computing services launched by Internet companies, including Alibaba Cloud, Baidu Open Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Jinshan Cloud. These companies have an innovative spirit, like to constantly change themselves, have the courage to explore in new areas of technology, and are more willing to accept new technologies, not only for enterprises, but also for individuals to provide cloud services. The cloud data centers built by these Internet companies are basically IaaS. Alibaba Cloud is the infrastructure service. Baidu focuses on platform services, focusing on developers and providing PaaS. The cloud of other Internet companies is also IaaS. One is operators, including China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile. Nowadays, three of them have set up their own cloud computing companies. China Telecom established a cloud computing company in 2012, and deployed a “4+2” cloud data center. China Unicom also established Cloud Data Corporation in 2013 to complete the commercial deployment of Woyun SDN network and deploy cloud computing resource pools of ten cloud data centers and 31 provincial capital cities. China Mobile is not to be outdone, set up Suzhou R&D Center, plans to build a R&D team and operation team of 3000-4000 people, with the aim of developing more specialized cloud computing R&D and application. These operators have the most complete network of coverage and have the foundation to incubate cloud computing applications.

Currently facing problems with cloud computing

Since cloud computing was introduced as early as 2005, the theory has been very hot since its inception. However, when it was implemented, it was stagnant, and there were several problems. First of all, in the whole society, people are very concerned about cloud computing. Many people are talking about it. There are many theories about outputting cloud computing. Everyone talks about cloud computing. It’s all about the cloud. In doing a lot of work, the investment is also very high, and it is tens of millions or hundreds of millions of yuan. But when we leave the theory aside, we have to look at successful practices, and it will be difficult to find successful practices. Many so-called IaaS services are just a traditional data center that changes signboards. It lacks many value-added services for cloud computing. Secondly, many data centers are newly built, and the original resources are no longer on the cloud. The cloud computing solutions are based on a completely new system, which is the acquisition of new hardware and new acquisition software, through these newly acquired infrastructure equipment. Cloud computing, which causes waste of resources, the original mass equipment must be discarded because it wants to support cloud computing. In fact, this is more of a small abacus for data center equipment vendors. Even if the existing equipment resources of the data center can support the deployment of cloud computing, these equipment vendors require all the foundations in order to sell more cloud computing add-on products. The equipment is rebuilt, causing a lot of waste of resources. Third, the security issue highlights that the storage of data in cloud services is shared, that is, there is no separate storage area for users. This data is potentially dangerous. The biggest difference in terms of data in cloud computing is that all data is maintained by third parties, and because the firewall can provide a certain degree of protection against malicious external attacks, this architecture makes some critical data possible to be leaked. In a cloud computing environment, if you can isolate your data from other users’ data, you can more effectively ensure data security. Finally, it is cloud computing energy saving. Cloud data centers are big energy consumers. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the State Council issued the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Comprehensive Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction”. Clear requirements: China should study and determine the advanced level of energy efficiency of high energy-consuming products and end-use energy products, formulate energy efficiency standards, and clarify the implementation time limit. The development of energy-saving cloud computing has become a national strategy.

Is there any future for cloud computing?

The concept of cloud computing is a bit too hot, and the hype is bigger than the substance. But it can’t be said that the generation of cloud computing doesn’t make any sense. When people think about how to move their products closer to the cloud, they also form some good applications. In short, the road to cloud computing is tortuous, but the future is bright. With the current accumulation of technology, the role of cloud computing will become larger and larger. Cloud computing technology can solve some of the problems left in existing data centers. The construction of cloud data centers will have an inestimable impact on the development of regions, cities and even countries. The completed cloud data center will play an important role in promoting the development of social economic construction, urban planning and information management. Cloud computing will become an important part of the future development of the data center.
