England is behind Cieran Triprice, who has signed for Atletico Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur, said the two clubs on Wednesday.
Atletico did not say how much he would pay for Trippier, 28, although the British media reported that the deal was worth $ 20 million plus $ 25 million.
Trippier played a leading role in England in the final four of the 2018 World Cup, marking a free kick in Croatia's semi-final defeat by 2-1.
He also helped the Spurs in the Champions League final for the first time in their history last season, where they beat 2-0 from Liverpool at Wanda Metropolitano at Atletico.
"With this signature, we add to our team a fantastic and experienced player who comes to us from the Champions League runners," Atletico said in a statement on their website.
"The Englishman is a flexible full back that can also play on the middle level and has a fantastic right foot."
"Because of all of this, we welcome Trippier to the Atleti family and we wish him good fortune in his new home."
Trippier is the third defender to be included in Atletico last season after Brazil's pairing with Felipe and Renan Lodi, while reports to Spanish media say the center of Spain is back and Mario Hermoso to sign the side of Diego Simeone .
Atletico, who finished second in La Liga last season, bid farewell to captain Diego Goydin and competing full-length Juanfran and Filipe Luis after their contracts expired while French defender Lucas Hernandez moved to Bayern Munich.
Trippier will be the first England player to play for Atletico in La Liga and the third British player in the top flight of Spain next season, along with Getafe Scot Garth and Gareth Bale of Real Madrid.
