India coach Ravi Shastri suggested to Rishabh Pant to concentrate and improve the design of the game during matches to find success.
Pant is currently receiving a lot of criticism from fans for his recent appearances in national colors.
Ever since Pant moved to replace Dhoni in the Indian team, he has received a lot of criticism from fans.
The shape of the southpaw with the skill of the bat and wing and his suggestion to head the DRS calls are all below average and has caused many people to raise their fingers to his choice on the national side.
"You have to make money (at your chances)," Sastri said, saying India today.
"Your work ethic has to be consistent. You have to have a solid approach to your batter. You can't think that everything will happen the way you want it to.
"No, that's not going to happen. This game teaches you. There is a method to the madness as well. So, he has to learn this method," he added.
Ravi also dropped a huge hint that Pant could leave the national team so he could play more domestic cricket and sharpen his skills.
"Sometimes domestic cricket is good. There is less pressure on domestic cricket. He is lucky to have his age," he said.
"If he disappears for three months or six months just to work on his game, people should not think he has been treated badly. Nothing. It will come back tougher and stronger if there is a need to do so."
India will close the horns with the West Indies again in the first ODI of the three-match series in Chennai on December 15.
