Floyd Mayweather, the 41-year-old legend of undefeated boxing, is scheduled to fight on New Year's Eve in Japan at the Rizin Fighting Federation, MMA promoted at a press conference on Monday in Tokyo (Sunday night in the United States).
Mayweather, who was present at the press conference, will take the 20-year-old Kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at the Saitama Super Arena.
At this point, however, it is not clear what this fight will look like. Ariel Helwani from ESPN said "Everyone I said would be shocked if they were MMA."
Mayweather himself expressed a similar feeling.
"We will talk about it, we will do this within the next two weeks," Mayweather said, when asked at the press conference about the race's weight and rules.
"We give people something they have never seen before," Mayweather continued.
"As far as weight is concerned, we are not really worried about it. When everything is said and done, it's all about me to go out there by showing my skills against another skillful fighter. So we both want go out there and show skills and give the world enthusiasm "
Nasukawa, Mayweather's opponent, is the ideal 27-0 kickboxing match.
When we last saw Mayweather in action, he defeated UFC star Conor McGregor in "The Money Fight" to move his boxing record to 50-0.
