Want to learn something new and nightmarish today? There is an arachnoid in Ecuador's tropical forests that resembles the head of a big black dog sitting on eight too long yellow legs. Shivers.
As the author of science, Ferris Jabr, pointed out when he tweeted the image, originally undertaken by the scientist and photographer Andreas Kay, the dog's head resembles something from the third Harry Potter. (Sirius, Is It You?) The critter is officially called Bunny Harvestman thanks to his rabbit like ears. The weird body is just as big as your miniature.
The Harvestmen are in the same family as the Daddy Obedient – a spider, but not a spider. These creatures are not poisonous and have gone for 400 million years before even the dinosaurs wander on earth, Kay writes in a post on the Rumble site. We do not know why this collector has the yellow eyes and the ears that make it look like a mammal's head – the real eyes are under the signs – but they may be bigger and more intimidating for the predators, writes Kay.
There is a lot we still do not know about Bunny Harvestman, but there is currently no evidence that his appearance is mourning. But still you will not forget this person anytime soon.
